All the Trees in NYC by Laura Salaberry
I’ve always been amazed by how trees change the way we feel about a street. That inspired me to create a guide of all the tree species in New York City. It shows the shape of each tree and its leaf, helping people identify them. My goal is that it serves as a starting point to get people interested in the trees they walk by everyday. The guide functions as a regular book when folded, and as a poster-format visualization of all the trees when open.
Credits: I did the illustrations and layout. The tree's list research is based on the Tree Counts report from 2007.
Marlborough Rd, in Dtmas Park, is one of the streets with more trees in Brooklyn. In only one block one can find more than 11 different kinds of tree, in a total of 55 trees. This video depicts how it's like to experience such an amazing street.
